In our May Construction Update, we shared that the Facilities Department Expansion project was scheduled to be completed in early July.
Now, we are proud to say that the building is finished!
Yesterday, our team hosted a ribbon-cutting to unveil the final result of the $2.7 million expansion project. Dave Edwards, president and CEO of GSP Airport District, as well as members of the Airport Commission and representatives involved in the planning and construction of the project were present to share this monumental occasion with the rest of the community.
The new 5,000 square foot administration building will house offices, a training room, locker rooms, a break room and a library. The expansion also includes a 6,400 square foot equipment storage building and the relocation of the fuel farm—which provides fuel for airfield maintenance equipment and airline ground service equipment.
Thanks to the hard work of our team of engineers, designers and contractors, the project was completed on time and under budget.
Take a look inside the ribbon-cutting and enjoy a sneak peak inside our new facilities in the video below.
