With summer coming to an end… ice storms, thunder storms or any kind of natural disaster that might delay your flight may be underway. Of course, no one wants to fly right in the middle of the eye of the storm, but flight delays can be very frustrating. After all we always have places to be and people to see, right? Check out these 5 tips on ways to avoid losing it during your flight delay.
- Eat a good meal- Now that you have 8 hours of nothing to do… pick a sit down restaurant and enjoy a tasty meal. You have a lot of time on your hands so treat yourself to a meal, no rush.
- Play catch-up- Call your best friend from college and catch up or reminisce on the good times. This is the perfect time to kill some time with a long phone call. You could also play catch up with Netflix and finish that series you’ve been meaning to watch.
- Ask the bold question- If you see there is an opening seat in a flight headed to where you are going, ask if you can take that spot. If the flight change fee is over the top, ask if they can waive it this one time. “Can I go into the VIP Lounge for just an hour?” Most people are afraid to ask those bold questions but what is the worst thing that could happen… they say no? Hey, if they say yes, you just got yourself home earlier or you get to check out the VIP lounge.
- Enjoy a drink- Check out the cool airport bars and toss back some drinks. This will make the terminal much brighter and if you are taking a vacation go ahead and start it early. But, don’t get too loose and fall asleep we don’t want you to miss your flight.
