With construction on our mind, we thought it would be interesting to highlight some of the tallest buildings in the world. In the past this title belonged to skyscrapers in New York and Chicago, but the world has taken notice resulting in taller buildings around the world. Check out some of the tallest buildings across the globe… for now.
- Nearly 700 feet taller than its closest competitor, the Burj Khalifa located in Dubai pierces the clouds. Standing at 2,717 feet tall it houses the world’s highest restaurant, the world’s largest observation deck and more.
- Standing at a whopping 2,073 feet, the Shanghai Tower is the second tallest building in the world to date. An eco-friendly building, this incredible structure hosts everything from indoor gardens to commercial space!
- New York still competes as one of the tallest… standing at 1,776 feet, the One World Trade center was built to symbolize freedom and resilience. Although, not the tallest in the world, this well-known building is the tallest in the Western Hemisphere.
- Thought your last hotel room was high up? The CTF Finance Centre in Guangzhou, China houses the highest hotel in the world standing at 1,740 feet.
As of today, these are some of the many tallest buildings in the world. In 2013, construction began on a building in Dubai that will top most of the buildings listed above.
