Flyer Fact Friday: Best mobile apps for traveling

Gone are the days of using a telephone to book a flight, or pulling out a paper map to plan your trip.

Today, people are going mobile to book flights, hotels, transportations, and tours—a trend that shows no signs of slowing down.

Experts have estimated that $40 billion of travel is being researched and booked on mobile devices this year.

As more people turn to their phones for all their travel needs, we’ve decided to share a few of the most popular apps used by travelers, according to Huffington Post.

Hopper

This recently launched app allows travelers to book flights with just a few taps. Users can even save their profile and information to make booking even faster.

Airbnb

This favorite app allows guests to find and book unique places to stay from local hosts in more than 190 countries. A cheaper alternative to booking a hotel, this Airbnb allows travelers to experience a new city like a local.

Secret Escapes

This easy-to-use app lets travelers search for, and book, luxury hotels on the go. It also shares flash sales for last-minute adventures and getaways.
