If you’re not planning a last minute trip this month, you may want to reconsider. According to a recent article in The Huffington Post, airfare for the month of August is predicted to be at an all-time low, and experts believe prices will continue to drop during the following months.
Normally ticket prices are cheaper during the annual “Deal Zone,” or the period starting around late August when airlines slash prices by 15 to 20 percent. This year, however, prices are expected to hit what some say will be the lowest in nearly four years.
The cause of these falling prices? In addition to the cheaper fuel prices, the lower demand for flying and the Department of Justice’s investigation into potential airline collusion are forcing airlines to lower ticket prices to keep their seats filled.
With prices so low, now is the time to book that last minute weekend getaway you’ve been taking about. Take a look at our direct and connecting flights today.
