Munich Germany – Oktoberfest
One of the world’s largest folk festivals, the Munich Oktoberfest runs from September 19 to October 4. Every year, this festival attracts millions of beer and brat lovers from around the world—6 million to be exact. In addition to eating and drinking, this year’s Oktoberfest also includes the Konga, Europe’s biggest and fastest swing.
Northeastern United States – Fall Foliage
Along with the cooler temperatures, Fall also brings brilliant colors, which can be found on trees big and small across the United States. However, the best places to view these autumn hues are in the New England area, where you can walk among the scarlet and golden leaves covering the region’s skylines.
Austria – Beard and Moustache Championships
While some people grow beards to simply keep warm during the colder season, others take it to the next level. These people can be found showing off their artful beard-styles at the biennial World Beard and Moustache Championships in Austria, from October 2 to 4. It’s truly a sight to see!
India – Diwali Festival of Lights
As India’s biggest and most spectacular festival, there will be a wide range of celebrations happening across the country from November 11-16. From firework displays, illuminated markets and burning effigies, there are countless opportunities to immerse yourself in a new culture and celebrate the fall season.
Greenville, SC – Fall for Greenville
While it doesn’t require a flight from GSP, Fall for Greenville is definitely a must-see event. All of Main Street shuts down as local restaurants and vendors set up shop and showcase their most celebrated cuisine. This is a perfect way to sample the flavors of the South, while tapping your toe to tunes of local musicians.
